Sunderbans
⚠️ THIS IS NOT A RESORT ⚠️
We are a farm stay dedicated to authentic living in harmony with nature.
If you expect 5-star treatment, polished aesthetics, or are uncomfortable with stray animals, insects, or rural life — this place is not for you.
The Earthen Retreat is run by Prameya Foundation, an NGO committed to mangrove preservation, reforestation, and local community upliftment in the Sunderbans. We are not a conventional resort — we are an experiment in authentic, sustainable living.
Located in Tridibpur, near Jharkhali, our retreat sits at the edge of the world's largest mangrove forest. Here, nature dictates the rhythm of life. Natural ponds reflect the sky, farm animals roam freely, stray dogs and cats are our companions, and local children study in our NGO-sponsored pathshala within the campus.
Our guests don't just visit — they participate. They mix freely with local communities, experience traditional Sunderbans life, and understand that true conservation means coexistence, not control.
We do not sacrifice originality and naturality for beautification. Our food is pre-organic — cultivated using absolutely natural methods without any fertilizers. We do not kill animals. We do not use pesticides or insect repellants unless absolutely necessary. We preserve mangroves, not manicured lawns.
If you are looking for Instagram-perfect aesthetics and sanitized nature, look elsewhere. If you want the real Sunderbans — raw, alive, and unfiltered — welcome.
Everyone in Sunderbans offers motor launch tours for tiger safaris. The truth? Few ever see tigers. The Sunderbans is far more than a single elusive predator.
We offer what almost no one else does: authentic local boat rides through narrow canals where you witness the real flora and fauna of the mangroves. Traditional wooden boats rowed by local guides who know every creek, every bird call, every secret of this ecosystem.
This is not about chasing tigers. This is about understanding an entire living, breathing wetland — the way locals have for generations.
Traditional wooden boats through local canals — not motor launches. Experience the Sunderbans the way locals do, with guides who grew up on these waters.
Guided walks through mangrove forests to the river edge. Our experienced guides explain the ecosystem and show you the real Sunderbans beyond tourist trails.
Special package: row boats into the river at night for unobstructed views of stars and constellations. Equipment and expert guidance provided.
Fish from our own hatchery and ponds. Visit the local jetty to buy fresh fish caught directly from the river.
Evening bonfires with traditional Sunderbans folk music performed by local artists. Authentic cultural immersion.
Mix with local people, visit the NGO pathshala, understand mangrove conservation efforts. This is living, not tourism.
Our accommodations are clean, functional, and designed to blend with the natural surroundings. Don't expect luxury — expect authenticity.
